“Wrong Pray” Jay-Z/Radiohead

This may be a love it or hate it, but Minty Fresh Beats did a pretty smooth mash-up of The God MC with some of the classic Radiohead songs. This track blends “I Might Be Wrong,” a heavy-synth cut with some growling guitars from Amnesiac. The lyrics in this song, and much of the mash-up, tell the familiar rags-to-riches Sean Carter story, but focus more specifically on the troubling relationship between the black artist/entrepreneur (or in another life, the Frank Lucas-style drug lord) and the various exploitative entities (boys in blue collecting dues, Hollywood, etc.) The Hova selections mostly come from American Gangster, which was also featured in Viva La Hova. For fans of that hybrid, or Dangermouse’s The Grey Album, this is a must-have.
